Information on Dr. Suthar’s Practice:

Dr. Suthar completed his undergraduate studies at Washington University, St.Louis Missouri. During his training he was involved in several research projects resulting in medical publication. He completed Medical school from the University of Missouri in June of 1993. His Internship was completed at St.Mary’s Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri in the area of internal medicine. During the period of 1994-1997, Dr. Suthar completed his specialty training in physical medicine and rehabilitation (PM&R) at the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas, Texas. He served as the chief resident during his final year.

Dr. Suthar is board-certified and licensed in PM&R. From 1997-2001, Dr. Suthar worked with the internationally renowned group the Texas Back Institute, in Dallas, Texas. His practice focused on the non-surgical care of patients with spine-related problems, including spinal injections and EMG/NCS (neurodiagnostic) studies.  He served as the medical director for an inpatient chronic pain rehabilitation center. During this time, he became a leader in the evaluation, treatment and education of Osteoporosis.

In March 2001-April 2003, Dr. Suthar worked at the Missouri Bone and Joint Center as the only physiatrist in the group. He continued his specialization in spine-care while expanding his practice to include the treatment of general orthopedic problems including sports medicine. Dr. Suthar has become especially active in minimally invasive spinal injections. Through his unique and personalized approach he has separated himself from other physicians who perform spinal injections for spine-related conditions.

Armed with a holistic and multidisciplinary approach to patient care, Dr. Suthar has developed a new practice: Pain Prevention and Rehabilitation Center (PP&R) opened on May 2003.  Dr. Suthar's practice has focused on the non-surgical management and treatment of  spine-related problems (including injection treatment), general orthopedics and nerve/muscle (EMG/NCS) testing. At the PP&R Center, Every patient is given the tools and information to be independent in their own health management, including physical therapy. Emphasis is placed on the quality of life, functional improvement, and long-term well-being.
